Bluebell Coffee House, Tenterden

As we all know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so I thought it was about time I gave one of my favourite places to eat it a mention. Bluebell Coffee House is on Sayer’s Lane in Tenterden, and owned and run by the lovely Sarah, it’s a real gem.

Partly, I love it for the cosy interiors (twinkling lights, shabby chic furniture), but mostly because the food and drink is fantastic. They also allow dogs, which for the dog owners among you is probably a bonus. I enjoy it because I get to look at other people’s dogs, so really it’s win-win.

Usually, I can be found there on a Saturday morning, post-spin class with a plate of pancakes. Which, I realise is probably counter-productive, but as much as I have the intention of just having a coffee when I go in, that almost never happens…

Sometimes though, I do have the avocado and salmon on sourdough, which makes me feel ever so slightly less guilty…

They’re always concocting new things too – their Instagram is filled with pictures of unicorn freakshakes and beautiful, colourful cakes. They’ve also recently added a peanut butter mocha to the menu, which I had with soya milk and it was amazing (and I’m sure full of protein, think of the peanuts!)

They’re open throughout the day and offer cakes and lunches too, and it’s very reasonably priced – most breakfasts are around the £5 to £6 mark.

If you’re in the area, I’d definitely suggest paying Bluebell a visit – you won’t be disappointed, and you’ll be supporting a lovely local business. Don’t worry, you don’t have to do the spin class first – you could go to Waitrose instead and probably have more of a workout trying to elbow your way to the reduced section…
