The Local Lust List #1

Oh hey there. If you’re anything like me (a shopaholic) then during lockdown you’re champing at the bit, wanting to hit the shops and buy some lovely new things that don’t even vaguely resemble jogging bottoms.

I’ve decided to fill that retail therapy void by putting together a weekly local lust list, filled with my favourite buys from around the county. Some of these retailers are still shipping during the Covid-19 crisis, and some you’ll have to lust over until lockdown’s lifted, but I’d recommend checking with each boutique for their individual terms and conditions and whatnot. (I also won’t be held liable if you spend all your toilet roll money on stylish treats instead.)

This week I’m lusting after…

1. The Jacksons Leopard Beach Bag

I am obsessed with anything leopard print, so this bag from Bod & Ted in Tunbridge Wells ticks all the boxes for me – it’s quirky, summery and big enough to carry a fair amount of essentials (lipsticks and snacks mostly.)

2. Bill Skinner Ice Cream Earrings

Continuing with the summer vibes, I am obsessed with these earrings from Bill Skinner (whose boutiques can be found in Otford and Tenterden, FYI). As someone who can’t eat dairy, these might be the closest I get to having a Mr Whippy this summer.

3. Inwear Maddie Skirt Pant

Looks like a skirt, is a trouser, comes in bright pink…it’s safe to say I’m sold. I really want somewhere to go other than Los Living Room and Costa Del Sofa so that I can justifying buying these from Sevenoaks-based Danish Collection (who, currently have 50% off!)

4. Tees by Phee Striped T-Shirt

These super-cute tees are definitely a wardrobe staple, and the classic colours and patterns are all embroidered with an equally cute bee. At the moment they’re temporarily closed, but owner Phoebe is working hard behind the scenes to bring some fab new colours and designs once they’re back up and running again.

5. Scotch & Soda Midi Dress

The lovely ladies at Figis boutique in Tenterden debuted this dress on their Instagram this week and I fell in love. Such a gorgeous colour and shape, and will definitely be ideal for all those summer weddings, garden parties or you know…Zoom quizzes.
